Colo-X Description
The Park Royal area to the north west of central London is an emerging data centre hub with quite some history as the first facilities appeared here over 10 years ago now. For example Exodus, long since acquired by Cable and Wireless opened their first London data centre here on Matrix Park, Coronation Road which still remains in operation under C+W, whilst a few 100 metres away French based telco Completel had begun the first phase of a new facility for their hosting business known as IPCenta. In fact this facility was acquired by the local management team when Completel withdrew from webhosting in 2002 who then operated the site as Vital prior to selling out to IXEurope in December 2005. IXEurope have of course since been acquired by Equinix and this site is now known as LD3.
COLT have also have a huge facility right next door to Telecity on Volt Avenue.
