Colo-X Analysis
Colo-X Analysis: Despite being a relative late entrant into the Dutch carrier neutral data centre industry Evoswitch are clearly making a big impact. Their current capacity of 5000 sq m, or 50,000 sq ft is just under 10% of the Amsterdam colocation market but significantly the site has both space and power to offer up to 40,000 sq m of capacity, which would make it the largest single carrier independent colocation facility in The Netherlands.
Although Evoswitch isn’t located in Amsterdam itself this seems to make little difference to the carrier list and AMS-IX connections can be made over dedicated links. Quality assurance comes from the strong accreditations and the high profile green message.
Capacity is available from a single cabinet upwards.
Facility Description
Located in Haarlem, about 11 miles/18km West of central Amsterdam, Evoswitch was founded in 2006 and the first phase of the site opened in 2007, with further expansion since then in three distinct phases across 5 Halls and two meet-me-rooms. Current capacity is now some 5000 sq m of net tech with scope to grow to 10,000 sq m and longer term potential of up to 40,000 sq m. 25MVA is currently onsite and 60MVA possible.
Evoswitch are claiming very strong green credentials on their facility, using 100% green energy and a PUE of less than 1.2. The new 32 rack POD or modular system being deployed on the site is using adiabiatic cooling (free air cooling supplemented with evaporative cooling when required). Up to 25kW per cabinet is possible.
Finally Evoswitch also have strong credentials including ISO27001 and 9001, PCI DSS and SAS-70.
